Why The Memorial Banner

Was Founded, 2/1/00

On December 4, 1999 a friend, client, mother, daughter & sister was brutally murdered by her husband. Her name was Paula D. Greene (pictured below with her service dog). She was bludgeoned by a 2x4 and strangled with an electric cord in her own bed, in the middle of the night.

The week she was killed she told friends and a judge that her husband was going to kill her. One friend invited her to stay at her home, Paula declined saying her husband would ‘surely kill her pets if she left them.’

When that friend found out Paula had met her fait, she set out & founded The Memorial Banner. Through a few design trials the right design was decided upon, and thus, The Memorial Banner became a legacy to all victims.

Family members sign the names of their murdered loved ones directly on the Banner, and tell their story.

A wonderful healing process that means ‘victim’s don’t die in vain anymore, their voices go on to help others,’ saying, “Get out, get out NOW! Save yourself & your child(ren)”
